Turquoise is a well loved stone amongst many, for its striking color. It's primarily found in the southwest areas of the U.S., including Nevada, Arizona, and New Mexico. The Native Americans of this region hold turquoise near and dear to their hearts since the tribes of the southwest were the first to discover & use it in jewelry.

The Natives believed this stone to hold the spirit of the sky and seas, but turquoise is also now believed to be a stone of protection, success, and calm, clear communication.

August's  Birthstone, is the iconic spring-green that is sure to catch your eye! Peridot can be found in various states here in the U.S, Myanmar, Pakistan, China, and Brazil. It is one of the oldest gemstones, dating back as far as 1500 BC. Looking to Ancient Egypt, they were mining peridot for jewelry around the Red Sea for over 3,500 years! 

Peridot is a gemmy variety of the mineral olivine, and gets its color high amounts of iron in the stone, also making it slightly magnetic if you have a big enough loose stone and a strong magnet.
