Mined and cut by the mine owner who is a long-time Carbondale local.
This gem is a calcium phosphate mineral that grows in a long hexagon and can be mistaken for golden beryl. Mexico is currently where the majority of the golden apatite seen on the market is from, and in raw form usually has a pointed termination, rather than the material from Eagle being more flat termination.
Apatite was first discovered in 1786 by German Gologist A.G. Werner, although the name is derived from the greek term apatan - "to deceive" because people would find it thinking it was beryl or peridot. Although it holds a beauty of its own, it's a softer stone than both beryl and peridot, which is why hasn't gained as much popularity as a gemstone comparatively. This is a gem of mental clarity, manifestation, and motivation. It's gentle yet bright yellow feels like a warm ray of sunshine on your skin, and even comes with plenty of hidden rainbows!
