Koi fish are well loved in may Asian cultures since these fish have been associated with lucky and prosperity. In particular, the koi fish in Chinese culture represents family, perseverance, and abundance. These fish originated in China, and have been well loved as far back as the 1600 BCE during the Shang Dynasty.
Jadeite Jade is arguably the most valued stone in Chinese culture. It is primarily found in Burma/ Myanmar and has been mined since the stone age, with the earliest artifact being dated back to 5100 - 3900 BCE. It is a stone that bring protection and luck, and is even said to bring one closer to the divine forces of the universe.
My Chinese grandmother's lore of jade is that you wear it daily to physically keep you safe, especially when traveling. If anything is to happen to you, your jade will take the hit and you walk away from anything that would have caused you severe physical injury.
