First found in Andalusia, Spain - Andalusite is a gem from the chiastolite family, an aluminum silicate that has a mysterious bi-colored nature called pleochorism. From it's coppery cognac color and hints of green, no matter which way you look at it, it is a gem that is sure to catch you staring! This mineralogical effect is rare but can be seen in other gems like tanzanites.
